Blown away by this place. Didn't come near to finishing the exhibits before I had to leave. Get the audio guide, it's very well done. Can't believe that I saw parts of the gates of Babylon.
Our guide was truly a blessing! She was knowledgeable and easy to understand. The vehicle we used was beautiful and very comfortable.
I enjoyed visiting the Hagia Sophia but there was not as much information as i would have liked once inside.
Having read reviews commenting on how parts of it are often closed, this was an unexpected surprise.Excellent collection with good explanations in English.
Taylan is an excellent guide. He is so knowledgeable and really is able to bring all the history of Istanbul to life. He keeps his groups very small. There were just 6 of us. It made for a much mor enjoyable experience having such a small group. Highly, highly recommended.
The tour was very reasonably priced compared to those offered by our cruise ship. We really appreciated the personal touch only afforded by a small group tour. I would strongly suggest that anyone traveling to Istanbul. You won’t be disappointed.
Hagia Sophia is a must see when you visit Istanbul. It is worthwhile getting one of the guides, who will whisk you past all the crowds waiting to get in and will provide you with a mine of information. Make sure he is approved by the government.
Hagia Sophia a must see historic land mark from the Byzantine era, and old Constantinople. The church is the former Greek Orthodox patriarchal basilica, later an imperial mosque, and now a museum in Istanbul, Turkey. From the date of its construction in 537 until 1453, it served as an Eastern Orthodox cathedral and seat of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
A museum that i find amazing for the content it exhibits. Highly recommended for a history passionate.
