Topkapi Palace is a just one of the highlights of amazing Istanbul. The Treasury is a must for anyone who has seen "Topkapi", but the real highlight is the palace itself; stunning rooms, magnificent architecture, and terrific views of the Bosphorus.
We so appreciate Taylan’s arranging a guide for us at the last minute. We got a wonderful review of his services from a neighbor just as we were leaving for Istanbul. He was able to reach out to a guide he trusted and arrange for two days in Istanbul visiting the most important sites.
My then wife and I visited Istanbul many years ago but the visit to the Grand Bazaar was an experience that even now I can recall with great clarity.Approximately 4000 stalls under cover selling just about everything imaginable and some unmentionable.Leather goods in particular are a good buy if you are prepared to haggle.
This was a great place to explore, beautiful well kept gardens surround the many little mini museums. I found all most interesting and atmospheric. You could spend a good few hours here to really see all. Well worth a visit!
It’s interesting, especially the Harem – the domestic quarters of the Sultan and his family.
Topkapi Palace a strikingly beautiful palace that resonates with history. The internal decorations of painted tiles defies explanation, and you can only marvel at how the Sultan lived.
Basilica Cistern is the magical place that indeed all of the other reviewers have described. It's a must-see and is a good alternative when the nearby Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia are too crowded. But I bet most visitors are disappointed in their pictures of it when they get home. Reason? They took flash pictures.
Could not believe the inside of Basilica Cistern- breathtaking and when you realise how old it is – WOW- a must visit
Basilica Cistern is a hidden gem beneath the city. Well worth a visit. Value for money and great way to spend an hour. Fascinating and interesting bit of Turkish history.
The best of all the tours we did. The AC van, guide, driver, and lunch excellent.
