Hippodrome is close to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Very Historical if with a guide, if not, read up on it before visit. Good place to people watch from one of the cafes there.
Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii)
Hagia Sophia is very important for us Ortodox because it has been the biggest Ortodox church for 1000 years, and later in Ottoman period a great mosque, and now museum with elements of both religion.
If you really want to experience Istanbul, you need to take a Bosphorus Tour. You can see the beautiful mansions on both sides of the seashore and if you can find time for it, try to read about them beforehand so you’ll grasp the history.
We were lucky to get a private tour which was fantastic. A great guide, professional and, guess what, a pretty cool friend too. He took us not only to the most beautiful places but he gave us the spirit of the sites, arranged special events for us and he was absolutely unstoppable. I could not have asked for a better service!
Istambul is an amazing city and Hagia Sophia is the hot spot of the visit.
Truly fantastic. Unfortunately today it is not a church anymore (neither a mosque) but a secularized museum.
Les apuesto lo que quieran que que diran jamas vi una ciudad xomo istanbul
After having gone through the nightmare of shopping in Egypt a few years ago, my husband and I were a bit nervous about going to the Grand Bazaar. So glad we did! It is lively but not chaotic, and the shop keepers have good humor and are not pushy at all.
Istanbul es una ciudad magica y hay que visitrla el tour privado es ideal para eso
Hippodrome is close to The Blue Mosque & Hagia Sophia, so you can easily include in your trip. It contains the bronze Serpent Column (from about 480BC; originally from Delphi) Constantine Column (330 AD) & Ancient Egyptian obelisk (from Luxor) of Pharaoh Thutmosis III (about 3,500 years old).
