Uchisar is a small village of Cappadocia  that has some of the most luxurious hotels in the region. It is located close to Goreme Open Air Museum and can be explored within a day or will serve well as an ideal base to explore beautiful Cappadocia.

Uchisar is very hilly and those with walking difficulties will find problems on steep streets and hills. From the top of Uchisar is the castle and one of the most magnificent views of the landscape. Walking around Uchisar will bring a smile to your face as you come across the unique police station and quiet cafes that are located in caves.

From the heights of the Uçhisar citadel, you have a magnificent and unrivaled view of the whole region.

Uçhisar Castle / Landlord’s Castle, (The big rock on top of the hill in Uçhisar). The view from the top of this massive rock with a number of rooms carved into it is well worth the price of admission. The path to the top is strenuous but short, mostly stairs and relatively safe. 5 TL.  edit

There are also many similar hand carved rooms and tunnels you can explore in the nearby Pigeon valley. Less stairs, perhaps less safe.

Uchisar is situated at the highest point in Cappadocia, The top of the Uchisar Castle, provides a magnificent panorama.

Well, not a 5 star experience but it is worth climbing the castle and seeing the view from 50 meters high.

the highest point of the area, when you walk up there you can see all valleys you visit during day and you watch all that beauty as if you are a bird.

Spectacular 360 degree views of the countryside with a very interesting history, but a little more information on the history and features of the site would have been helpful. Placed close to the very interesting old centre of Uchisar.

You don't realize of Capadocia until you're there standing by the castle foot. Nighttime walks are appealing for the proper lighting of it. A must.

Nice pictures of the Castle from below, worth to go to the village outskirts and take pictures of the Castle with back light.

Since the unfortunate death of a tourist who fell whilst taking a photo, this is just a photo opportunity between the cameras of lots of other tourists

When comparing the castle to others I have seen in Turkey, it is definitely unique. There are no displays or indepth information given but if you want to see a marvellous view over the region, this is the best place to do it from. Entrance was 5 lira.

We didn't climb the castle, as we didn't have enough time, although i've heared that the view from the top over Capadoccia is unique.

The big tip is to try and go completely private. Many of the large tour companies offer private tour and they are going to charge a significant amount of money for the tour guide. However, many locations offer self-guided tours and therefore you have the ability to supply your own tour guide. Easily Book your guided private Ephesus tours, to see all the treasures of Ephesus Turkey. It's often said that Turkey has more ancient cities and classical ruins than does Greece. Well, it's true, and the Aegean coast holds a great number of sites, including Ephesus, the grandest and best-preserved of them all.
