Uchisar is a small village of Cappadocia  that has some of the most luxurious hotels in the region. It is located close to Goreme Open Air Museum and can be explored within a day or will serve well as an ideal base to explore beautiful Cappadocia.

Uchisar is very hilly and those with walking difficulties will find problems on steep streets and hills. From the top of Uchisar is the castle and one of the most magnificent views of the landscape. Walking around Uchisar will bring a smile to your face as you come across the unique police station and quiet cafes that are located in caves.

From the heights of the Uçhisar citadel, you have a magnificent and unrivaled view of the whole region.

Uçhisar Castle / Landlord’s Castle, (The big rock on top of the hill in Uçhisar). The view from the top of this massive rock with a number of rooms carved into it is well worth the price of admission. The path to the top is strenuous but short, mostly stairs and relatively safe. 5 TL.  edit

There are also many similar hand carved rooms and tunnels you can explore in the nearby Pigeon valley. Less stairs, perhaps less safe.

Uchisar is situated at the highest point in Cappadocia, The top of the Uchisar Castle, provides a magnificent panorama.

It's quite an easy 15-minute leisurely climb to the top for a 360% view of the Cappadocia region. If you are there when the weather is hot, go nearer to sunset when it's breezy and the climb is mostly in the shade. There's a drink stall at the top selling juices and you can linger and take beautiful pictures.

It must have been the time of year, but we were the only people in the whole place, which made it all the better. After climbing around the perimiter for a while, we paid the entrance fee and climbed to the top. The views were spectacular. Well worth the trip there and the ticket price.

Best time to visit the castle is at sunrise to observe the changing colors of all the valley surrending and take pictures of Pigeon Valley and Love Valley.

You will have some fantastic views from here. Definitely worth it if you are in staying in Uchisar, and entrance is relatively cheap.

Great view that is achieved with a very short hike. I suggest going near sundown when the Mosque's are announcing the call to prayer, it is enchanting.

It's a reasonable climb (thankfully now up purpose-built stairs) to the top of the 'castle', but the 360 degree views are well worth it. There are some points where more robust barriers would help those (me) suffering from vertigo, as a thin rope didn't quite seem to be enough to separate people from the long plummet to the ground.

For 5 lira, you can get a spectacular view of the surrounding valleys and chimneys. Don't expect any information about the castle or the people who used it as a dwelling, though.

Interesting to see how a whole community used to live in a rock.

Best site to view colorful sunsets over Rose, and Pigeon valleys.also lots of little walks through the amazing fairy chimneys which are not too crowded with tourists at sunset. Special !!

The big tip is to try and go completely private. Many of the large tour companies offer private tour and they are going to charge a significant amount of money for the tour guide. However, many locations offer self-guided tours and therefore you have the ability to supply your own tour guide. Easily Book your guided private Ephesus tours, to see all the treasures of Ephesus Turkey. It's often said that Turkey has more ancient cities and classical ruins than does Greece. Well, it's true, and the Aegean coast holds a great number of sites, including Ephesus, the grandest and best-preserved of them all.
