The landscape is amazing. I was as told that the depth of the valley is around 150 meters. There are a river and churches down there. I didn’t try to go down there, although it was possible. We only see it from above. It has been a hidden place for Christians, during the Arab raids to Cappadocia. I rate it a bit low not because of the sight, but because of the trip. We were rerouted from the normal road, passing small roads and villages in the mountainous area, with some steep road. It was a bit scary for me. I might have different opinion if we didn’t pass that alternative road to reach this place.

We took an organized tour for the 7km hike which was great but we went on a Sunday and found the gorge hopelessly overcrowded with domestic tourists as well as large tour groups. This will definetly take away from your hiking experience if you are used to hike lesser used trails. There is an entrance fee of TL 8.However the scenery was great and everything was lush and green since we hiked in late April (spring). If you go you may wish to avoid the high season and/or weekends.

It was a great experience. Gokhan is the best guide one could ever have. It was my first time mountain trekking. Difficult at times but gokhan made sure I was all right all the time. Thank you gokhan. Hope to see you again.

This was an awesome hike. The hike itself was appropriately challenging and very enjoyable. The views were incredible. Gokhan was very personable and allowed us to move at our own pace. He also shared with us some perspective on the area. THIS IS A MUST if you really want to see the finest Cappadocia has to offer. History in this area is amazing. If you do not have a car you can get the green tour and this is also included. By traveling to Derinkuyu, I have learned so much about history of this region that I couldn’t learn from history books.

It was a nice break from the Underground Cities and Cave Monasteries that we had been visiting. I loved the many different wild flowers, and the trees beside the river provided a nice shade from the afternoon heat.

Excellent trip!! This was the favorite part of my trip to Cappadocia. Gokhan did a fantastic job of catering to a group with mixed abilities making the day really enjoyable with just enough challenge to cement great memories. Beautiful route to hike within a short drive from ihlara valley. Nicely done – thanks so much!!

The big tip is to try and go completely private. Many of the large tour companies offer private tour and they are going to charge a significant amount of money for the tour guide. However, many locations offer self-guided tours and therefore you have the ability to supply your own tour guide. Easily Book your guided private Ephesus tours, to see all the treasures of Ephesus Turkey. It's often said that Turkey has more ancient cities and classical ruins than does Greece. Well, it's true, and the Aegean coast holds a great number of sites, including Ephesus, the grandest and best-preserved of them all.
